The Narrow Path and Dealing with Disappointment

Hello Everybody!!
So I am trying to have patience and be strong no matter what happens I learning to deal with disappointment no matter what happens! I strive to live my life a certain way, following the commandments of my God, leaving a small as possible footprint, and care about those that are around me. We as human being always want to go for the quick fix, the easy route, this is not usually possible or good for us. We must sometimes walk the hard road, to the things we have to do but do not want to do. We must seek happiness in the moment even when it is nearly impossible. My advice: be happy, especially when you do not want to be.

Tired, Facebook, and the Heat

Hello Everybody!
I am sorry about yesterday, I was really tired and did not get a chance to put up anything on the blog! I pretty much laid on the couch and watch Missy A finger paint on the kitchen tile, meaning tomorrow I have I have to get red paint of the tile, and counter. What can I say, she really had fun! We are moving to a new house and actually a new area closer to our concierge clients and our church yeah!! Topping all that off the heat is still horrible with no sign of ceasing and the rain is no where to be found, ugh! Texas is the hottest place I have ever lived. Oh to be cool again, this heat is crazy!

Anyway I am having problems uploading my logo onto Face book from Windows Word so if you can help leave a comment. I will greatly appreciate that thank you!

Love. Loss, and Change

Hello Everybody!
I have to say the hardest thing about being a child care provider is when children grow up and move onto the next level of their development. You are happy for them but sad at the same time. some children just get beneath your protective armour and into your heart. I was just talking to one of my former charges, I try to call once a month to see how he is doing. Master D is a good boy, I do not mean some of the time I mean everyday he was a joy and delight. A truly well behaved child that I enjoyed getting the opportunity of spending time with! He was and is a delight to know.
Okay, I'm going to tell the truth I have not finished Jolly, why; two reasons. Firstly, no sandpaper and secondly laziness. I just have no energy. Plus I'm having a dieting problem, no motivation and will power. I'm doing research to change that to make all my plans come true. The purpose is to look back on my life and be happy with the choices that I made and have no regrets.

It Frying Pan Hot!!

Hello Everybody!
I hope everyone is having a great day today, it so hot in Texas its in the three digits on the heat index and record high. We are all trying to stay out of the heat and stay cool. Missy A however never understands this and thinks that thinning and skating in the high sun is acceptable, she does not get why I will not go outside or let her go out there either, It so hot the old man (dog) stands in the doorway and refuses to go outside unless it's early in the morning or late at night. I can not even argue about this it"s hot and I am mot going out there!
I am still working on the dress decision decision!! I will be spending the rest of the night working on it so I have something to wear this weekend to church. I just have problems with the color and I am going to find a way to change that.

Youtube

Hello Everybody!!
So I was watching YouTube which has been really big with me lately. I watch many hundred's of hours. Before you even think that it's for entertainment purpose it is not as I mention before being frugalista is like a mantra for me and I am really worried about harsh and dangerous chemicals that does serious damage to the body. So I watch videos on products like soap, toothpaste, deodorant, shampoo, conditioner, and hair gel. If there is something I do not know I go to YouTube, look it then follow that with other searches to make sure the information is correct before I proceed. This is how I learn to make a natural laundry soap that reduced my bills to about 72 cent per load. I am a Proverb 31 woman, something that brings me pride and joy. I can make things from scratch, which most people can not do !

Missy A and the Adoption Packet

Hello Everybody!!
So I am having breathing issues why? Missy A decided to use the microwave to soften bread now the whole house has a burnt smell. Of course this is the same child who put her toy electronic puppy in a microwave and nearly burned down the kitchen, as you can guess the microwave no longer works after the explosion. She never listens to anything any one says. She has always been this way. She, however is still one of the sweetest children I know, so kind and loving, just have to watch her in all her waking hours. On another note my first adoption information packet has reached YEAH!!! I am so excited! I'm going to read the whole thing, every word, and then highlight all the sections that apply to me. I have to tell you I am very happy! It feels as if my prayers are being answered!

The Doll, The Blanket and Aunty Sweetie

Hello Everybody!!
What a day? I have so much stuff to do today plus I am trying to not lose my patience with the people who are messing with me! I am now at the final stage of my baby doll which is paint and seal . I am thinking I need to sand it a little more to get a smoother texture or I am going to glue a skin (fabric) over the doll to have the finish look the way I need it to. I made Jolly a sweater, cap, blanket, skirt, and diaper cover so far and I need to start the mitten, socks, and mary janes next. As you can see from the pictures I have completed the wig and have comb and cut the hair into a banged bob. It took two days to get it to the stage it's in now.

On another note I finished making my cousin Cal's, who had her second son last month, baby blanket and cap in a green and yellow basket weave. I am thinking about lining it with fleece before I mail it to her. Look at the picture and tell me what you think, does it need to be lined? I have been working on the blanket for over a year, it took a lot of time to knit because I used size two needles and that makes the process really slow. However; this is not usually a pattern I knit but I wanted something special for Cal's family. I really love them especially Aunty Sweetie she brings me so much joy she encourage me and was the first one to tell me that it will be okay, that adoption was an acceptable option, which was just what I need to hear! It was so good to hear! That changed my life for the better! I love you Aunt Sweetie and I miss you so much now that we are so far apart!

The Reboot, Weightloss and The Dream

Hello Everybody!!
Okay now the house is filled with fruits and vegetable for the reboot. I am terrified, but really I have no other choice. I must get in shape I am going to be forty in two years and I will be taking my fortieth year pictures which I will have post to show how great I look, it is a important tradition amongst my college roommates and there is no way I am failing this! Now you are probably wondering why I am posting this on my daily blog, because dear friends I have no willpower, but I do have shame a lot of it and if I post it here I will work my hardest accomplish this! I need to lose almost two hundred pounds of excess fat. After the divorce I was really depressed not so much about the marriage but about the fact that I failed. I so want to change my life I want to be a better and greater me. Therefore I rewrote my bucket list. Number one being motherhood and number two weight loss. Now I am in charge of my dieting and I'm going to find joy in each day and live my life to the fullest!

The White Dress

Hello Everybody!!
I am siting in a crowded room waiting for this presentation to be over so I can go home. I have to get ready for an event. I like to be prepared for every occasion. I made this white dress that I am planning on wearing ad I have not completed the neck line as of yet, mostly because I can not make a decision about whether I am going to embellish it or wear it plain I can not make up my mind whether add buttons, sequins, or gems to the front or a really nontraditional option of fabric paint! You know what, I'll just finish it and leave it plain and then make a decision about it later on what to do!

This is going to be short today have a lot of things to do. My work is never done. Talk to you later. Peace and love!!
P.S. If you have any questions please leave a comment and I will respond as soon as possible.

The Late Night Ride

Hello Everybody!!
Will as you can all see I have my first follower and I am asking everyone who stops by to subscribe to my blog.

I went for a late ride tonight it has been so hot and as I hardly ever go anywhere I thought that a late ride would just be the thing. There is hardly any traffic on the road it is all quiet and peaceful it is so great I have always been a night person I love the cool of the night and especially shopping at the local Walmart Supercenter. The lack of crowds makes the world feel empty and I enjoy that so much, the city is at rest and I am out and about enjoying the quiet. I took Missy A with me as I was really on a mission to pick up her big brother Silver so he could spend the next day with her. He is an adult now and rarely maybe once a month comes to see her. She is always so happy when he comes, she has a long list of things that she plans to do with him. I am happy to see him because it really lightens my load and I am able to get more accomplished. Here are pictures of the Grouchy old man that I had mention in my last post, he is so beautiful and I can not help loving him!!

Cleaning and the Doll

Hello Everybody!!
I am sitting in the living room wondering whether to began the long job of cleaning up the the front room. It is a task that I do not enjoy especially since it involves wrestling and wrangling a five year old and an eight year (in human years) old dog who is a grouchy old man! I have to convince Missy A to move all her toys, dust, organize. and vaccum. Wish me luck!!
I am almost done with the doll and so the photo shot is on, I will post the pictures on Etsy and here on my blog. I guess I am going to have to crochet or knit a dress for Jolly with booties and mittens to go wih the cap and sweater that I made. You know what, I probably will make a couple of dresses for her to show a range!

The Pucci Clutch

Hello Everybody!

I decided last week to make a clutch an inspiration from my favorite designer who are Emilio Pucci and his daughter; I love their colors, patterns and style so I knitted and sewed together the second bag you see above. It really holds a lot and is a combination of four different color yarns- purple, yellow, medium hot pink and brown to help ground it. It is fully lined with a double snap closure. If you would like for me to custom make one for you please leave a comment and I will contact you. Also, the reason I did not mention the size is because you can have yours made in any size you want or even have a pocket done in the lining and in any color combination that you want.

I also made Missy A a clutch in two shades of pink with green fun fur, she loves it. It has a long strap so she can wear it criss cross to help prevent losing it, because it small and so cute. Please note you can order any one that you would like just leave a comment. You will receive a ten percent discount if you become a follower of my blog.

On a different note, I am looking at choosing which adoption agency I will be using for my first adoption, there are so many choices. Please pray for me and wish me luck! Please pray for me and wish me luck! Peace and love!!

The Adoption Funds

Hello Everybody!!
Had a great day today, finally picked out the picture for my Etsy store yeah! Positive comments are welcomed! On another topic, I need to find a way to move all my stuff to Texas Orgh! I am thinking if I sell the majority of it I can have the begin to pay down my adoption fund!! I have estimated that I need more than 20 thousand dollars for this adoption. I, however; enjoy blogging, it gives me a place to talk out all my feelings, seeing that the only person I have to talk to is five. At her stage of development Missy A is not really into listening, but talking.

Potential of children

Hello Everybody!!
I was putting Missy A to bed, looking in her shiny eyes, and I had to marvel at the wondrous miracle that children are. She is so quirky she loves to sing but absolutely refuses to learn the words of any song. She tells me she make up her own words to the melodies which drives me nuts, but lately I think she is five she is so creative why am I trying to change her, why do I want her to conform into what society think is normal.
When you read about the greatest thinkers and doers of the world, their biographies all tell stories about them being different! So I have made a resolution; I am going to encourage quirkiness, the creativity and difference and not only encourage but enjoy it. I can not wait to see what she grows up to be! For the sky is the limit on her life and as a protector of the innocence I strive to see she reaches this potential.

Thursday, August 4, 2011

Hello Everybody!
So I got my first follower yeah! I am so excited, meaning a going to be sending her a gift. I have decided to send a gift to the first ten people who became followers!
I am almost finished wih my flyer and it will be off in the mail. Right now I am finishing up, the baby doll will be moving on to stage four soon, maybe by Friday morning. Madam B says that I should mention that the doll can be sold if any one wants her, her name is Jolly as meaning happy. Please note I did not root her hair with human hair but synthetic as it was a gift. Her hair can be styled, if you want her or have question please comment and I will respond as soon as possible. Tomorow I am going to have to find a paintbrush and I am hoping that I packed away one somewhere in my stuff.
Saving has brought me much pleasure in the past and for a time it brought in a supplemental income to cover the unexpected bills. I began classes when I was fifteen in addition to Home Economics. I love to make all kinds of things which has greatly impacted my life. I have never bought curtains, cushions, tablecloths, or dresses, I have made them all. I have even made wall hangings and quilts for my beds. I hardly ever use a pattern and enjoy the fact that my style is uniquely my own. I always wanted to be a travelling couturier, which is a freelance dressmaker. Well good bye for now! Peace and love!!

Wednesday, August 3, 2011

Hello Everybody!
So I got the bathroom door unlock it just took a couple of hours and advice from the Man of Steele! Today being Wednesday, it is fast day at the homestead a day of reflection to look at our lives and pray for H Back who has been in the hospital for three month. She is really sick and we are truly worried, for a while there it was touch and go. She's getting better and I could not be happier! As you can see from yesterday's post I am coming down the wire on the sweater set and I ill post the pictures as soon as I am done with the doll.
I wonder sometimes about willpower and how someone can strengthen it. I really interested so if you have ideas leave a comment below. Thanks! Peace and love.

Boredom and what to do

Hello Everybody! I am sitting at home wondering what to do since my charge Miss A has locked the bathroom door and now I have to find a way in. There is no way I am paying a locksmith so I guess my only option is YouTube to find a way to open the door. Adding to my list I still have to find a design for the concierge service flyer and finish the hands, feet, and head on the doll! Mind you, I am not complaining, I am excited about most of it, it helps with the boredom of the day spending 12 hours everyday with a five year old while rewarding, you start to yearn for adult conversation. You know what, to be totally honest yearn is not strong enough word, what actually happens in I fall to my knees and beg the Holy Father of Heaven for help. I am thinking it's time I join some kind of club. Most of the mothers I meet tell me that raising a child is the most rewarding job on the planet, it also the hardest and you need really good support to make it work. So I have decided to form a club after my first adoption, where I gather a group of single mother together to do some activities likely a movie or book club and we chip in to pay a couple of sitters to host a play date for the children while we indulge in adult conversation.

Here is the baby blanket it all it' glory!

Hello Everyone!

I was on Facebook last nigh talking with my college girlfriend, someone I had not spoken too in over 20 years, and she was telling me about what has been happening with all the friends I had lost contact with. I had change school my sophomore year and never saw any of them again. It's weird to have about people who meant so much to you and some how now you cannot even remember their faces. Facebook really has change the world you can look back and remember the person you use to be. Reflections of the past, I hated college and now I remember them fondly. The trials of your past can become fond memories when your are older!

On another topic, my friend, the Man of Steel bought me a bunch of rug yarn form the Goodwill, Yeah! So now I'm knitting a rug for my dolls. I'll put pictures up when it's done!

Hello Everyone!
Well it Sunday and I am preparing for this new week. Making plans about what exactly I have to do to make this week successful. I finally got my Adoption page up on Facebook, now I have to find a picture or symbol for it. I have decided to make a gift a crochet or embroiled bookmark to send along with each order of 50 dollars or more made on my Etsy store.
I am still working on the sweater set I have completed the blanket and am going to post the pictures of it today. I have not even decided what cap pattern to use and I am having problems with my doll so all projects are still going on!
I have decided to do a Bible study on adoption, oh the things we learn when we look! Adoption is not a foreign concept! The Bible mentions orphans constantly and the treatment of them! I won't quote the scriptures, unless you want me to! Please comment thank you

Friday, July 29, 2011

Hello Everyone! So here are the pictures of the bath scrub mitten, I finally got them downloaded.

As I have mentioned before, the Internet is really big to me, I read all kinds of information on it, any questions I ask myself I look it up on Google. So I've been doing a lot of research on adoption, reading all the policies of the countries that allows international adoptions plus state adoptions; there is such a range and an agencies to fit every person. Right now I'm thinking that I would like to have at least 2/3 of the funds that I need before I make the next step. I looking for the best opportunity that will be best to make my forever family. If you have any comments or suggestions please leave one I'm interested in what you have to say!

Life List-Bucket List

Hello everybody! I was looking through some old papers that I had and I noticed sadly that I never even accomplished one thing on my Life List, you knew; that list about everything you want to do before you die, it's now called a Bucket List thanks to that movie by the same name. Any who, I wanted to go to Brazil, learn Portuguese, and be a historian. I wanted a wonderful life with four children; those dreams are so dead. It is weird how we grow and change as the years pass by. I sometimes wonder what I would tell the 16 year old me, she was so full of hope and had many dreams. Now at 38 I have not accomplished any of them. I am working on making peace with that on a daily basis though. I have accepted that I now have new dreams, my Bucket List is mostly different, and that's not a bad thing. We grow, we mature, we change, and we have to accept this if we want to live with ourselves and be okay-content, and if not content, work on being that way. I always say to myself, walk your path! Failure is about not even trying to obtain the dreams you have. Peace and love!

The Doll

Hello Everyone!! I hope you are having a great day. I do not know if I have mentioned that I love making dolls and used to have a blog about them. Any who, so I am making one right now, I need a model for the baby stuffs. I'm making for my Etsy store, since I do not have access to baby I thought a doll would works. I'm working on making it as realistic as possible. I am making it from a stretch cotton blend in the front and upholstery grade muslin fabric in the back then covered in artist medium, a technique I read about on the doll artist Rivkah Mizrah's blog it allows me to paint it and extents the life of the piece. I love her blog I have learned so my different things that help me to perfect my doll craft. I will post pictures when I'm done. I have not yet decided if it is a girl or a boy. More than likely I will let Miss A decide, she is a very curious child who never and I mean never stops talking and asking questions. This is great in the middle of the day and morning but not when I am tired. Usually I do not discourage her as it, in my opinion, helps her form her world views and I try to actually pay attention and not let it be background noise. I hate to admit this but I find her fascinating, the way her mind works! I hope my future children are half as interesting either way I would consider myself lucky!

History of Adoption

Hello Everyone! Another beautiful day! when I went to college, before I got married T graduated with a BA in History and a minor in Political Science so my greatest hobby is reading History Tomes; I love them! Finding out about what leads people's lives and their cultures also what happened and how they lived their lives really captivates me. So now I am in a search of adoption in History and how it became what it is today; further details to follow.....
On another matter, so I finish the scrub mitten and tried it out, it really works! I did one side in a knit and one in crochet its really neat and did I mention it works really well to clean the skin! Also I am nearly finish with the example of the baby blanket that I have been making for many years for my friends and family's babies. I am also going to make a sweater and cap for my Etsy store. I am doing it in multi colors to show the variety colors it could come in, thus when you order it you can customize it to your taste, or even other colors and an you can have it separate or a set.
I will put the pictures on my flickr page which is Roarling1 if you are interested in seeing my work. I am not really good at computers so this blog is a means of learning more and maybe I will become more tech savvy! Wish me luck!

Frugality and Adoption

Hello Everyone!

I am working as a nanny, a job we all know does not pay well but it affords me the opportunity of spending my time with children until I am a mommy (sigh)! Another project is getting the concierge service going, there are so many steps, like everything else in the world nothing comes easily. Any who, in my quest to raise funds for all the steps to my adoption and taking care of myself. I have become, wait for it....A frugalista. I did a mega Internet search on ways to live a debt free life. Mostly it requires research and planning. The mantra being never pay full price for anything so you can save the difference. This was not that hard for me as I already made most of my own clothing and cooked the majority of my own food being that I do not eat a lot of meat products. I would like to one day be a full fledge vegan, living in a place where I can growing my own food and live a simpler life with my children, but baby steps, no pun intented. Being fabulously frugal requires, in essence, the desire to spent the time and energy to save money. For examples, buying beans, while the can would be easier the bag of raw beans are way cheaper but requires a lot more work on my part. In addition, I soak the beans overnight which cuts way down on the cook time(frugality to the fullest) so for the same price of one can of beans I get a pot of them that can be divided and frozen to be used at a later date. Yeah I love saving, plus people in this economy is there really another choice?

Flickr

Hello Everyone! I am keeping it really short today as i am going to finally join some flickr group tonight. Yeah!! I've been a watcher for over a year and had only one contact....Tarja Simpanen who is in my opinion is super, she makes fabulous shoes for fashion dolls. I love her blog and her photos on flickr she has motivated me to put my photos on the internet and blog about my dreams.
Today I am begining a new project I am making bath cloths that exfoliate the skin. I will be doing an experiment to see if knitting it or crocheting it would be best or a combination of the two. I can't wait to give you the results.

"Chase your dreams for there you will find happiness". I pray happiness for you all!

Requirements

Hello, everyone new day new task, today I a working om a new product for my Etsy store; a cotton crochet dishcloth, with a fabric backing and bonding on the edge, which I will sell for 5 dollars in sets of two's. Also I am adding a trivet that matches that sold separately.

There are so ma aspects to having a successful adoption and many requirements that adoption agencies expect you to complete even before you are matched with a child. My agency is particularly hard but though I find it daunting it is not entirely impossible. I am not complaining though, I am really happy about this; working towards this goal has given me great purpose. I am starting a concierge service with a girlfriend to work in my community, we offer exclusive service for our clients- cleaning, cooking, general maid service, laundry, grocery shopping, office work, lawn service, childcare, and many other services to ease their daily stress. We have a long line of independent contractors that we are pulling under one umbrella to ensure that our customers have a marvellous life. Personally our mission is to allow families to spend more time together without the stressful work and activities that forces families apart. We imagine a working mother and father coming home to a clean house, all their chores done, children's homework done and dinner ready, all they have to do is eat dinner and spend time with their children. With every one's life being comfortable and satisfied.
We are also interested in growing small business in this economy by offering freelance workers which will help their overhead cot because they will have to supply employee's incidentals.

Daily Encouragement

You are the helper of the fatherless. Lord you have hear the desire of the humble. To do justice to the fatherless and oppressed Ps 10:14, 17-18

My Dream

Hello my name is Fiona, I am a 38 year old woman, who is divorced, childless and trying to be a mommy. Let's all be real, we know the statistics about the rate of older women remarrying and having children that it is not very promising which as a realist, lead to a serious depression; however, I started a research on the Internet and around my community and came up with an idea that I cuddled and cared for until it became a full plan!
While I could live without having a husband, I can not live without having children, this is something that is so very important to me! My plan adoption, there are many children in America and around the world that need homes and someone to love them, someone to comfort them, why not me? However, there was a major problem, I had spent the last 15 years mostly as a housewife and as we know this profession does not pay well. So I needed a means to facilitate my dream, of not only adopting , but helping others adopt also. Where am I to get the funds from? After hours of watching You Tude I had an AHA moment...I decided to open an Etsy store selling all the things that I had been making for years as gifts. The profits of the store will go to my adoption fund and the non profit organization, I will soon be starting to encourage more people to adopt. So this blog is a means for everyone who is interested to see exactly what's going on. I will blog daily and will be discussing my adoption process, the crafts I make, and the general things that come before me.
Thank you for stopping by and please become a follower and if you have any questions leave a post and I will answer in a timely manner!
